Lady Antebellum, Superstar Trio Bring Country Heart Break To London

With the rising popularity of Country music in the UK, it’s no surprise that more and more acts are making the trip across the pond, from up and coming acts playing smaller venues to the heavy hitters playing the UK’s largest stages. And this week it was the turn of Country trio Lady Antebellum, comprised of Nashville native Hillary Scott alongside Augusta, Georgia boys Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood. While they may not be known as an arena-topping act to most outside of the US, they have still managed to reach the top 10 of the UK album charts...

Live: John Mayer @ The O2 Arena

“My stupid mouth has got me in trouble, I said too much again” sang a young John Mayer on his debut studio album Room For Squares, released some 16 years ago now. And his ‘stupid’ mouth (read twitter in today’s age) is what the now 39-year-old guitarman is generally in the media for. But it is for his mastery of blues guitar that I will always (always!) try and catch his live shows. Following the release of pop-rock record Room For Squares and its successor Heavier Things in 2003, featuring radio-friendly singles Bigger Than My Body and Daughters, it was with 2006...

Photography: Green Day Live

Californian rockers Green Day returned to the UK for their first shows since 2013, rounding out this first leg with an mammoth, incendiary 30-song set at London’s O2 Arena. Here is some of the great photography from the night. The rock trio, supported by an extended band, opened the night with 21st Century Breakdown lead single Know Your Enemy. A fan was pretty much immediately pulled up on stage to sing with the frontman before reluctantly stage-diving into the crowd. Armstrong motioning to the fan to take her running leap of faith. Bassist Mike Dirnt shared front of stage with frontman Billie...

Live: Green Day @ The O2 Arena

With the recent controversial U.S. presidential appointment seemingly the only thing I’m forced to read about these days on the news, it seems that rockers Green Day have ample inspiration for new material coming hard and fast. With the announcement in September 2016 that the band would be playing at London’s O2 Arena for the first time since 2009 in support of 12th studio album Revolution Radio, British fans were abuzz with excitement. Being a hardcore fan of the band since I was 14, I knew that this was certainly going to be a show to remember. They hadn’t been in...

Live: Biffy Clyro @ The O2 Arena

Scottish rockers Biffy Clyro are back, and bigger than ever, with the release of seventh studio album Ellipsis. And to support the record, frontman Simon Neil along with his rhythm section of twin brothers James and Ben Johnson on bass and drums respectively, hit up some of the biggest venues across the country, ending up with a stop at East London’s tent-venue – The O2 Arena.   The rock trio suffered from a split of their fan base following their mainstream success with Only Revolutions in 2009, seemingly sounding too light and commercial to some when compared to their...
