Lady Antebellum, Superstar Trio Bring Country Heart Break To London

With the rising popularity of Country music in the UK, it’s no surprise that more and more acts are making the trip across the pond, from up and coming acts playing smaller venues to the heavy hitters playing the UK’s largest stages. And this week it was the turn of Country trio Lady Antebellum, comprised of Nashville native Hillary Scott alongside Augusta, Georgia boys Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood. While they may not be known as an arena-topping act to most outside of the US, they have still managed to reach the top 10 of the UK album charts...

Kelsea Ballerini, Country’s Newest Starlet at The O2

They don’t come much more Country than rising Nashville born and raised star Kelsea Ballerini, even though the 24-year-old grew up on a diet of pop, only delving into Country later on. And that might explain her catchy, hook-laden pop-country tunes that had her named CMT’s Next Woman of Country back in 2014. Appearing on stage in a star-spangled blue cut-off dress, silver hot pants and sparkly heels, if we didn’t already know that Lady Antebellum where the main act tonight, Ballerini could easily have been mistaken for the headliner, breaking straight into her first single and biggest hit...

LIVE: Blink-182 @ O2 Arena, London. Whats My Age Again?

Recently one of my Facebook friends posted an article about the appropriate age when you should stop clubbing. In wider context the appropriate age when you should abandon the dance floor or concert hall for the benefit of early nights in with kids and pyjamas. The magic age revealed by a new study which polled 5,000 Britons was 37. That is  when you are “officially” too old for gigs and parties. So here I am, another night at the O2 Arena, excited as a teenage girl, ready to go and photograph the band I love. What’s my age again?...

Live: John Mayer @ The O2 Arena

“My stupid mouth has got me in trouble, I said too much again” sang a young John Mayer on his debut studio album Room For Squares, released some 16 years ago now. And his ‘stupid’ mouth (read twitter in today’s age) is what the now 39-year-old guitarman is generally in the media for. But it is for his mastery of blues guitar that I will always (always!) try and catch his live shows. Following the release of pop-rock record Room For Squares and its successor Heavier Things in 2003, featuring radio-friendly singles Bigger Than My Body and Daughters, it was with 2006...

Rock Show: John Mayer – See Me Three Times!

John Mayer is back! After four years, following 2012’s American-roots influenced Born And Raised and it’s 2013 follow-up Paradise Valley, the famously outspoken singer, songwriter, guitarist and sometimes bluesman returns with his new album The Search For Everything. The record will be released in waves, the first of which featured four songs and was released in January. And in support of the new record, Mayer is back out doing what he does best, playing live shows, but with a twist. Back in 2007, Mayer played a one-off show at L.A.’s Nokia Theatre following the release of his critically-acclaimed, double platinum...

Photography: Rush @ The 02 Arena

All this machinery making modern music! Rush at the O2 Arena was exactly that. Not only was it a great honour to be chosen to shoot the band with only 6 other photographers but to see them so close up and with such a brilliant light show and pyrotechnics too.  ...
