Cheshire Alt Rockers, The Luka State, are starting 2017 with a bang with the infectious, anthem  Lies, Lies, Lies.  The four piece band, who already have over three million views on You Tube, ring in the new year with their trademark sound of driving guitars delivered with raw intensity, the perfect backdrop to lead singer Conrad Ellis’s rousing vocal that rallies against us acting like sheep in the face of popular spin.

Conrad told us: “I’m looking forward to seeing how people perceive the lyrics and the video. I get a real kick from seeing how people interpret the content we create”

“I’m always a fan of streaking when drunk at festivals – look out Glastonbury – but having to go stark bollock naked for the bath scene in the Lies, Lies, Lies video in front of a whole film crew was a bit scary. Let’s just say it was cold… very cold.” (CE)

Conrad also explained a little more about writing the track “The song is about my disgust at this ‘post fact’ world we live in. It’s not about any specific event like the lies around Brexit or Trump, but more the fact that people have too much trust in the media.”  He continues “we just swallow it down, with a warped interpretation that suits our own needs. Without even realising it we all want the world to be better but for own selfish reasons.”

The video was filmed by renowned cameraman Francis Coppey, who took a break from working on an arabic version of Game of Thrones to shoot the video and directed by the band’s long-standing creative director Jim De Whalley.

The latter has directed all their previous videos including the 2million+ viewed 30 Minute Break starring British actor Thomas Brodie-Sangster (Love Actually, Maze Runner, Game of Thrones).

Lies, Lies, Lies precedes the band’s new album which will be released in summer and follows in the footsteps of the critically acclaimed The Price Of Education mini-album.   The guys will once again be self-producing the album, but with a little help from Chris Sheldon (Foo Fighters, Feeder, Biffy Clyro) and Dave Eringa (Manic Street Preachers, Wilko Jonson, Idlewild).

The band recently announced they’ll be playing at London’s New Cross Inn on 25th January.  For more info and to get tickets go to

The band formed when lead writer, guitarist and singer Conrad, and his brother-like mate Sam were just 12.  Their tightness as a band and as friends, has made them a formidable live act and has seen them play to audiences up and down the country both at their own gigs and supporting fellow British band One Night Only.  The band have also amassed a horde of international fans through their innovative videos and social media channels.
