Russian shoegaze band Pinkshinyultrablast have shared a new remix of their song, In The Hanging Gardens, by Ice Choir (Kurt Feldman), in celebration of their 10 year anniversary.

The original, released on February 23rd, has a strong electronic influence, however this does not replace the shoegaze roots of the band’s style. Instead, it compliments it to create a bouncy, bittersweet, almost dream-pop track. Lyubov’s voice is captivating, complimenting a melodious track.

The remix works well with the song, creating an interesting upbeat shoegaze/electronic piece. With its elements of 80’s synth, it creates a longing nostalgia, amplified by Lyubov’s spectacular voice.

Pinkshinyultrablast’s new album, Miserable Miracles, is coming out on May 4th via Club AC30 and Shelflife Records, and will be available digitally and on vinyl. The band has also announced a UK tour to mark the release of the album and the 10 year anniversary of their very first show at the Money Honey Club

Following Lyubov’s move to LA, the band have been experimenting with different genres, taking more of an electronic route, while still incorporating shoegaze sounds. This feels like a lovely and organic progression for the band, with In The Hanging Gardens working really well. If this track is anything to go by, we can be positive the new album will be something for new fans and old fans alike.

Pinkshinyultrablast is formed by Lyubov (vocals), Rustam (synths and electronics) and Roman (guitars).
