The new single wraps up an incredible year for Nick which started with him long listed on BBC’s Sound Poll for the year and more recently saw his debut album ‘First Mind’ (from which ‘I Don’t Want To Go Home’ is taken) nominated for the Mercury Music Prize.
The b-side is a cover of Drake’s ‘Just Hold On We’re Coming Home’ which was recorded in the Radio 1 Live Lounge earlier this year
Nick Mulvey concludes a fantastic breakthrough 2014 with the release of a new single, I Don’t Want To Go Home, taken from his critically acclaimed top 10, Mercury Prize nominated debut album, First Mind.
The video was shot during Nick’s Summer tour of Australia and during the new studio recording of the single with Johnny Flynn.
Commencing the year on the BBC Sound of 2014 poll, Nick Mulvey has taken his hypnotic acoustic music to all four corners of the globe, and is building an ever-expanding army of fans everywhere besides. Having already been nominated for the Mercury Prize in his former band Portico Quartet, Nick follows that success with this year’s nomination, warranted solely on his own merits. It’s a record that stands apart from his peers, a groove-based, loose-limbed beast that showcases Nick’s otherworldly guitar-picking style, and the obtuse shapes they conjure.
Nick has announced a series of huge tour dates for Spring 2015, including a near-sold out show at London’s Roundhouse in March.
In 2014 Nick Mulvey became one of the UK’s most successful and acclaimed young artists of the year, but his story shows very few signs of abating in 2015.
