Live: Paul Dempsey @ Bush Hall

It’s been some six years since Australian singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Paul Dempsey last graced UK shores, with a stop at the 200 capacity Water Rats venue in North London’s Kings Cross in support of the Something For Kate frontman’s first solo outing. In support of this year’s sophomore effort Strange Loop, he opted for the slightly larger Bush Hall in West London’s Shepherd’s Bush for his sole European appearance. Appearing on a bare stage adorned with just a microphone and a huge red velvet backdrop, the towering 6’5” Melburnian, dressed simply in a blue shirt and jeans, stepped...

Photography: The Temperance Movement, Acoustic Live.

The Temperance Movement live acoustic……So, an announcement at the end of November that the band would shortly be playing a series of three stripped back acoustic shows in small venues in London, Manchester and Glasgow was met with considerable excitement and fans rushed to obtain tickets for what might well be the last opportunity to see the band in this guise. Whilst nobody would wish to deny them their success, a significant part of the fan base (myself included) miss the intimacy of those early days and those very special gigs....

Live: Flo Morrissey @ Bush Hall

London-based singer-songwriter Flo Morrissey played a show at West London’s Bush Hall as part of her first UK headline tour following a busy year which included slots at Glastonbury, Green Man and End Of The Road festivals, in support of her debut studio album Tomorrow Will Be Beautiful which was released earlier this year. Bringing her wispy, pastoral sound back to London, the now Paris-based singer was in fine form in front of the 200-strong crowd. This was always going to be a gentile show, given Morrissey’s summery, free-flowing sound. But with her band comprising just a keyboardist/guitarist along with...

Festival: Glastonbury 2017 just blew the roof off festival season!
Published On: March 30, 2017
Every year the world's music festivals announce their line-ups, generally in dribs and drabs, each competing with one another for the slickest offerings - be they pop, rock, dance, legends or any other kind of make-up. But there is one festival that always, always blows the rest out of the water, seemingly without even trying. So when this morning's first Continue Reading
