Las Vegas rockers Imagine Dragons are back with a brand new single, and if it’s any sort of guide to what to expect from album #3 … it’s time to get excited!
The multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning four-piece release Believer on KIDinaKORNER / Interscope Records on March 17th about which frontman Dan Reynolds says “This last year has really been the most centred and positive of my life. This song explains my realization that the emotional pain I faced the last few years actually helped me progress to this healthier mental space – that adversity truly is what helps you become a believer in yourself.”
The track was used to ‘power the visuals’ on Nintendo’s recent Super Bowl LI ad for their newly unveiled Nintendo Switch console, one of the biggest-spend television advertising slots in the US calendar.
Directed by Matt Eastin , the video features 1980’s superstar Dolph Lundgren (Rocky IV, The Expendables), Dan Reynolds saying of the film “The video depicts a man facing his inner self, the toughest critic of all, while paying homage to some of the classic movies we grew up with.”
Formed in 2009 and featuring lead vocalist Dan Reynolds, guitarist Wayne Sermon, bassist Ben McKee, and drummer Daniel Platzman, Imagine Dragons released their debut album Night Visions in 2012 selling nearly four million copies worldwide, and becoming the No. 1 album on Spotify Worldwide for 2013. Standout single, Radioactive went 9x platinum and earned the band a 2014 Grammy for Best Rock Performance. The follow up Smoke + Mirrors debuted at #1 in the UK Chart and went on to sell 165,000 copies.
Famed for their highly energetic live shows, if the music gets you going, the shows are where you belong! I, for one, am waiting in anticipation for both the new record and its subsequent tour.
