Something For Kate front man Paul Dempsey is slotting in a rare solo UK appearance at West London’s Bush Hall in support of his third solo album Strange Loop. The Melbourne, Australia-native has had huge success with rock trio Something For Kate since 1997’s Elsewhere for 8 Minutes hit the shelves, with 2001 hit record Echolalia certified Platinum.
2009 saw Dempsey flex his solo muscles with debut solo album Everything Is True, which peaked at number 5 on the Australian album charts and saw Dempsey pick up from his native Australia and transplant himself in New York for a period of time. Acoustic covers record Shotgun Karaoke followed in 2013 and now Strange Loop continues Dempsey’s solo adventures, with it’s title track one of those aired but not quite complete for that first 2009 solo effort.
For Paul Dempsey and Something For Kate fans on this side of the globe, this is a rare treat of a show from the rocker, back on these shores for the first time since his first solo show at London’s Water Rats venue in 2010. For everyone else: do yourself a favour and grab this rare opportunity!
