Boston rockers Pixies can’t seem to play enough UK shows it seems, and their love of the Brixton Academy keeps them coming back for more.
Following selling out six UK shows last month, including not one but two headline dates at London’s Brixton Academy, which they also sold out in July, the Black Francis-fronted quartet have announced a further three UK dates including an arena show in Cardiff and a stop at Birmingham’s Academy venue following yet another show at Brixton, making their tally at the venue four nights in 2016 alone!
Pixies’ UK winter tour is in support of their forthcoming sixth studio album Head Carrier, the group’s second album following their 2003 reunion and their first with current bassist Paz Lenchantin who joined the outfit in 2014.
A lucky few would have caught new album track Classic Masher in addition to new single Um Chagga Lagga during the band’s summer festival appearances including Lisbon’s NOS Alive and Bilbao’s BBK Live as well as their first Brixton Academy show of the year in July.
Snap up tickets before it’s too late! Winter is coming …
Head Carrier is out on September 30th.
