Harry Pane is a folk/blues singer-songwriter living in East London and hailing from Brackley, Northamptonshire. With a soulful and emotive voice, he adds guitar riffs, plenty of slide-guitar action and a stomp board to the mix with striking results. He writes and performs his own music and cites John Martyn, Damien Rice, Bob Dylan and Xavier Rudd as some of his key influences.

RockShot first came to know of Harry when he opened the Main Stage at Grillstock Festival back in the summer with cheerful self-deprecation and a raw and powerful voice.

Harry tours the UK extensively. He recently headlined a sold-out show at St Pancras Old Church, London and performed at the world famous Metropolis Studios as part of the Metro Acoustic sessions which builds on a solid foundation for supporting emerging talent. He appears as part of a new event called New Blood Live at The Brooklyn Bowl at the O2 on 26 November 2015 alongside Mark Sullivan, Belle Roscoe and ILONA.

His live gigs showcase not only his ability to perform a great cover – taking an original track and effectively turning it completely on its head – but his own notable material as well. The newly composed Cold Light Of Day is influenced by artists like Jamie N Commons, The Bones of JR Jones, Seasick Steve and Rocco DeLuca and Harry uses a slide to create a bluesy, glissando effect.

His first EP, Real Souls, was championed by BBC Introducing London and Amazing Radio and quickly gained approval online. He is in the process of producing his second EP and reaching out to his existing and soon-to-be fanbase for support via the PledgeMusic platform.

A few years have passed since his first release. RockShot spoke to Harry about recording his new material and asked if the delay between recording Real Souls and his second EP was intentional. He explained ‘I felt I really needed to focus on my writing and my sound. Playing the live circuit in London has been really enjoyable and all the different venues, people and experiences have allowed me to gain more confidence and expression within my own songwriting and performing. It’s been a great learning curve but it’s finally time to begin recording my new material’.

When asked what we can expect from the new tracks, Harry said ‘I’ve been piecing together songs that I feel will be powerful and punchy. My stomp board has always been a strong part of my live performance, so I want that strong pulse to be heard in my new material!’.

The PledgeMusic campaign will end on 1 December 2015. Pledging support is an opportunity to be part of the onward journey of this talented artist. One to watch.
